THE WAY THINGS ARE: The meaning of life is to be found in thinking about what is reality and the beauty of reality is to be found in our DNA's memorization of all forms that have been successfully retained along the four billion years of evolution of the principle of life on Gaia our earth. In the end what I mean to say is that beauty is something objective and what we call ugliness is then simply our unconscientious feel of something evolution did not retain.

The Oil Drum | When Is &Global Peak Energy?& According to Publicly Available Data, Probably Sooner Than You Think

Global peak energy, living standards and levels of human population.
in The Oil Drum by Chris Clugston author of "The End of the Amerikan Dream"

Energy is the "enabling" resource; most, if not all other natural and manmade resources and their capacities to sustain human life are derived from or dependent upon one or more sources of primary energy. The fact that the amount of energy available to human beings is subject to a limit -global peak energy- has profound implications for future human population levels and living standards.

Given humanity's unquestioned dependence upon energy for survival, answers to the following questions are critical to our long term success as a species:

* When and at what level will global energy "peak"?
* What are the implications of global peak energy for the world's human population?

The following analysis represents my initial attempt to answer these questions; the primary conclusions are unsettling, but clear: Based on publicly available data, global peak energy will probably occur between the years 2025 and 2030; total available energy will decline continuously thereafter.

The End of the Amerikan Dream 34 pages pdf.

Unmistakeably a great piece of work showing that Peak Energy FROM CURRENT SOURCES is less than a decade away without any production and distribution system of NEW energy that could possibly be put in place in time to replace the fall of the total energy produced from current sources. Conclusion:
- energy prices will soar
- more and more people will lose access to distributed energy

The rise of energy consumption is what has allowed humanity to grow its national economies. When energy consumption will start to decline national economies will follow that decline. Poorer nations will be the first to decline economically and the resulting misery could lead to very rapid falling population levels.

The principle of necessity is at our door-steps that will impose us to revise our modern model of living. This necessity to change our economic ways will be accompanied by cultural change that shall re-balance the working of the society-individual polarities. Societies will come out strengthened and thus imposing the sharing of a "common worldview".
